Alright. I am really going to give this blog thing another go. So.....I am sick. I have a cold, and it's the first really cold day of the season. The 40 degree change in temperature doesn't bother me so much, but it would have been nice to have some 60 degree weather between the 80's and 40's. Welcome to Utah, right?
Well, as the title of this gripe zone states, this is a sort of free-for-all/place of truths. For starters, while I love my children, it absolutely sucks that while employed in the role of Mom, there are no sick days. No personal days, no mental vacation days. They don't care (or often notice) that Mommy has a cold, fever, chills, headache, aches, pains, cough or any other of our favorite symptoms. They still want to eat at the same time, play the same games and all around want that good old routine that we work so hard to maintain each day. They play as rough, make a mess and fight with each other just as much, if not MORE so than they would on any other day. So, as a Mommy, we push ourselves. We push and we push and then when our bodies say "NO MORE!" we push just a little harder. Right? Then our genius little minds wonder why we can't just kick this stupid bug and move on with our lives.
Welcome to Motherhood. The water's just fine. Oh, wait. I'm being honest here, right? Let's try that again. Welcome to Motherhood. The water is often a little too hot, or a little too cold, almost always smells and is full of germs. The pool is never empty, and you'll probably get your hair pulled. Jump on in and have a great time!
